In our rapidly changing world, the flow of goods and services increasingly crosses national borders, making international trade one of the most dynamic areas of the global economy. Businesses today rely on analytically minded professionals who are well versed in exports, imports, customs regulations, trade finance, and logistics processes to stay competitive both at home and abroad.

International trade is a multidimensional discipline encompassing the economic relationships between states, institutions, and firms throughout the process of moving goods and services from production to the final consumer. Trade policy, customs unions, international financial institutions, foreign exchange markets, and global supply chains form the core areas of study in this field. Digitalization, sustainability requirements, and geopolitical developments continue to reshape the dynamics of international trade.

As the Department of International Trade at İstanbul Okan University, we aim to equip our students with the skills the sector demands through a strong curriculum that combines theory with up-to-date, practice-oriented knowledge of foreign trade. We provide our students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with data-driven decision-making skills, the ability to analyze international markets, and up-to-date awareness of global trade dynamics. Our graduates work across a wide range of fields in both the public and private sectors, including foreign trade, import-export, customs consultancy, international logistics, banking and finance, and the international operations units of multinational companies. Our graduates build careers in numerous positions, such as foreign trade specialist, import/export officer, customs consultant, international marketing specialist, and logistics and supply chain specialist.
