ENGLISH/TURKISH/RUSSIAN/CHINESE LANGUAGEEXEMPTION EXAM

Students must either be exempt from the language requirement or, based on the result of a placement test, enroll in a preparatory language program in accordance with the language of instruction of their registered program. Istanbul Okan University offers preparatory education in English, Turkish, Russian, and Chinese.

ENGLISH
Students who have completed their entire high school education in a country where English is an official language are exempt from the English proficiency exam. In addition, students who achieve TOEFL IBT 72, UDS, KPDS, or YDS 60, PTE 55, or CAE Grade C or CPE Grade C are considered exempt from the preparatory program and may start their studies directly in the first year.

Students who do not have any exemption or valid exam result are required to take Istanbul Okan University’s English Proficiency Exam, which is held at the beginning of each academic year. Students who score below 80 out of 100 in this exam must attend at least one semester of English preparatory education.
