Istanbul Okan University Department of Genetics and Bioengineering includes research and application areas such as genetics, tissue engineering, stem cell biology, cancer biology, developmental biology, cell biology, stem cell biology, immunology, synthetic biology and epigenetics.
Our aim is to combine engineering and life sciences to produce new information with high social and economic value in order to increase the quality and duration of life by conducting basic, applied and translational research, and thus to enable the development of biomedical technologies, advanced diagnosis and treatments. In addition to advanced technology research in education, our goal is to train bioengineers who are well-equipped, with a desire for lifelong learning, who can produce new perspectives and technologies, take a leadership role in the medical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnological industry and academia.
