Total 36
A total of 33 quotas have been allocated, with 3 quotas for each of the 11 units. The remaining 3 quotas will be allocated, according to the University-wide Erasmus+ selection score ranking, among eligible candidates who could not be placed within their unit quotas. Quotas left vacant due to the absence of eligible candidates in a unit or due to withdrawal will likewise be distributed according to the same overall ranking. Decisions concerning additional quotas and transfers will be recorded by decision of the authorized board/commission.
Quotas are estimated and may change depending on the number of eligible applications, placement results, agreement quotas and the project budget. Placements will be made by taking into account students’ Erasmus+ selection scores and institutional preference rankings.
Students will be funded for one academic semester in either the Fall or Spring semester of the 2027–2028 Academic Year. The grant period will be determined according to the academic calendar of the host institution and the documented eligible activity period. Students who begin their mobility in the Fall semester and wish to continue in the Spring semester may, subject to the necessary approvals, complete the second semester as zero-grant mobility.

WHO MAY APPLY
Under this call, applications for study mobility from full-time bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students enrolled in formal education programmes at Istanbul Okan University will be evaluated. For associate degree students, the traineeship mobility call applies.
Study mobility is carried out within the framework of a valid Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement covering the student’s department and study cycle. Before applying, students must check the applicable agreement for their field, the language of instruction, the academic calendar and the quotas. Placement for study mobility cannot be made in fields for which there is no suitable agreement.
The student must remain enrolled in a degree programme throughout the mobility period. Study mobility cannot be undertaken after graduation. Double-major students may apply from only one major within the same application period.

MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Be a full-time student enrolled in a formal education programme at Istanbul Okan University.
  • For bachelor’s students, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.20/4.00.
  • For master’s and doctoral students, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.50/4.00.
  • Achieve at least 60/100 in the Erasmus+ foreign language assessment.
  • Have a sufficient ECTS workload consisting of courses or non-course academic work for study mobility. In an academic year consisting of two semesters, students are expected to follow a programme corresponding to 30 ECTS for one semester.
  • The total duration of previous Erasmus+ mobilities and the new mobility at the current study cycle must not exceed 12 months. In programmes such as Medicine, where two cycles are completed as a single cycle, the total maximum duration is 24 months.
For students who do not yet have a university transcript at the application stage: students transferring from an associate degree programme must have an associate degree graduation grade of at least 2.20/4.00; preparatory-year and first-year students must have a high school graduation grade of at least 90/100. For master’s and doctoral students applying in their first semester who do not yet have a transcript, the graduation grade from the previous higher education cycle is used. For students who have transferred horizontally or vertically, if no grade point average has yet been formed at our University, the latest transcript from the higher education institution from which they transferred is taken into account.
For master’s and doctoral students in the thesis stage, a Learning Agreement may be prepared on the basis of a 30 ECTS non-course workload for one academic semester. Academic eligibility is assessed by the relevant unit. For the evaluation of academic grades on a 100-point scale, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) grade conversion table is used.

ERASMUS+ FOREIGN LANGUAGE EXAM
Students who do not have a valid foreign language exam result may take the Erasmus+ English Proficiency Exam to be administered by the Foreign Languages Coordinatorship.
  • Written exam: Monday, 14 December 2026
  • Speaking exam: Thursday, 17 December 2026
The written exam results and the students who will proceed to the second stage will be announced on 16 December 2026. Foreign language exam results will be announced on 23 December 2026; objections to the results must be submitted in writing to the Foreign Languages Coordinatorship between 23–28 December 2026. The finalized foreign language results will be announced on 4 January 2027.
The exams will be held in the classrooms of the Foreign Languages Coordinatorship at the Tuzla Campus. The exam time and classroom information will be announced separately on the Erasmus website. Students who meet the required success condition in the written exam will be eligible to take the Speaking exam. The contribution of the speaking exam to the total foreign language score may not exceed 25%.
Students who do not have a language certificate at the time of application must select the option “I would like to take the University foreign language exam” on the TURNA Portal. English exams taken as part of preparatory education cannot be used in place of the Erasmus+ foreign language exam.
In addition to the University’s Erasmus+ foreign language exam, YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL, e-YÖKDİL and international foreign language exams recognized as equivalent by ÖSYM are accepted. Central/equivalent exam certificates must have been obtained within the last 5 years prior to the application start date and must provide a score of at least 60/100 or an equivalent score. ÖSYM’s current equivalency table is used in the equivalency assessment.
The language of instruction and admission requirements of the host institution must also be met. Passing our University’s foreign language threshold does not mean that the host institution’s language requirement has been met. The foreign language threshold exemption specified in the 2026 Handbook applies to students diagnosed with a pervasive developmental disorder with a disability level of 40% or above.

APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
  • Current student certificate: e-Government barcoded document or electronically signed document issued through OBS.
  • Current transcript: e-Government barcoded document or electronically signed document issued through OBS. Documents marked “Sample” will not be accepted. Students who do not yet have a transcript must document the relevant graduation grade or submit the transcript from their previous institution.
  • Republic of Türkiye Identity Card: The front and back sides must be uploaded as a single PDF file.
  • Foreign language exam result certificate: Students who will use a valid central/equivalent result must upload the certificate. Students who will take the University exam must select the relevant option.
  • Supporting documents for special circumstances: Official documents supporting requests for additional points, such as martyr/veteran status, disability, Laws No. 2828/5395 and AFAD disaster-victim assistance.
Documents must be uploaded in legible PDF format to the relevant fields on the TURNA Portal within the application period. New applications or additional documents will not be accepted after the application period has ended.

EVALUATION CRITERIA
The Erasmus+ selection score is calculated by adding 50% of the academic achievement score out of 100 and 50% of the foreign language score. The additional points and point deductions listed below are applied to the total score.
CriterionWeight or points
Academic achievement level %50
Foreign language level %50
Children of martyrs and veterans and the relevant scope specified in the Handbook +15
Students with disabilities — provided that this is documented with an official report +10
Students who have previously been or are currently subject to a protection, care or accommodation decision under Laws No. 2828 and 5395 +10
Students who themselves or whose first-degree relative (biological/step) receives AFAD disaster-victim assistance +10
Previous participation in long-term study/traineeship mobility under the same project type and at the same study cycle (with or without grant) −10 for each activity
Participation in mobility in the country of citizenship −10
Failure to participate in mobility after selection without submitting a withdrawal notice within the deadline −10
Applying for study and traineeship mobility at the same time −10
Unexcused absence from mobility-related meetings/trainings — applied in the subsequent application −5
Declaring an intention to take the University foreign language exam but failing to attend without an excuse — applied in the subsequent application −5
Prioritization under martyr/veteran status also covers the relevant persons within the scope of Laws No. 3713, 667 and 5233 as explained in the 2026 Handbook. For disability priority, a Disability Health Board Report issued within the scope of the Regulation on Disability Assessment for Adults must be submitted. Circumstances within the scope of Laws No. 2828/5395 must be documented with the relevant official decisions/documents.
The AFAD additional points are applied only once at each study cycle, separately once for KA131 and once for KA171 project types. If the student has participated in mobility, the additional points are not applied in subsequent applications under the same project type. If mobility was not undertaken due to timely withdrawal or force majeure, the additional points continue to apply in the subsequent application.
Mobilities undertaken at a previous study cycle, BIP, short-term doctoral mobility and short-term blended mobility are not subject to the deduction for previous participation. If a student who has not previously participated applies simultaneously for study and traineeship mobility, the type of mobility from which −10 points will be deducted is determined according to the student’s written preference. For students who have previously participated, the simultaneous application deductions specified in the 2026 Handbook apply; for example, following a previous mobility, −20 points are deducted from the previously used mobility type and −10 points from the other type.
If total scores are equal, priority is first given to the student with the higher academic achievement grade; if academic grades are also equal, to the student in the higher year within the same study cycle; and if the years are also equal, to the younger student.

EVALUATION AND PLACEMENT PROCESS
Applications are subject to an eligibility check. Eligible candidates are ranked according to their Erasmus+ selection scores within the quotas of the relevant units. Placement is made by taking into account score superiority, institutional preference order, the field and study-cycle coverage of the agreement, and the host institution quota. Results are announced by decision of the Erasmus+ Selection Committee officially appointed by the Rectorate.
Having a disciplinary penalty or failed/retaken courses does not, by itself, prevent a student from participating in the Erasmus+ Programme. Being selected does not mean that final acceptance from the host institution has been obtained. Selected students are nominated to the relevant institution by the Erasmus Office and must complete the host institution’s application/admission procedures within the specified deadlines.

LEARNING AGREEMENT AND ACADEMIC RECOGNITION
Before the mobility, the programme to be followed by the student and the corresponding recognition at our University are determined in the Learning Agreement. The Learning Agreement must be approved by the student, the sending institution and the host institution. Course changes must be entered into the agreement after the relevant academic approvals are obtained.
In an academic year consisting of two semesters, students are expected to follow a workload of 30 ECTS for one semester and 60 ECTS for one academic year. Full academic recognition is granted for credits successfully completed within the scope of the approved Learning Agreement. Failed courses are repeated at our University in accordance with the relevant academic procedures. At the end of the mobility, the host institution’s transcript and certificate of attendance must be submitted to the Erasmus Office.

GRANT AMOUNTS
The Erasmus+ grant is a contribution towards expenses incurred during the eligible period of activity abroad; it does not cover all expenses. For study mobility to Programme Countries under this call, the following monthly individual support amounts apply.
Country groupHost countriesMonthly study grant
Groups 1 and 2 Germany, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Greece €600
Group 3 Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia €450
The grant is calculated on the basis of the documented eligible activity period, limited to one academic semester. The exact amount will be specified in the grant agreement to be signed with the student; the final calculation will be based on the actual and documented activity period. Travel support is provided separately.

TRAVEL SUPPORT AND GREEN TRAVEL
Travel distance is determined using the European Commission Distance Calculator. The amount in the table is the total round-trip support and is not multiplied by two.
Travel distanceStandard travelGreen travel
10–99 km €28 €56
100–499 km €211 €285
500–1,999 km €309 €417
2,000–2,999 km €395 €535
3,000–3,999 km €580 €785
4,000–7,999 km €1,188 €1,188
8,000 km and above €1,735 €1,735
As a general rule, low-emission means of transport are expected to be used for distances below 500 km. Bus, train and car-sharing may be considered green travel. To receive green travel support, green transport must be used for both the outbound and return journeys and more than half of the total journey must be made using these means; the relevant supporting documents must be submitted. Where necessary and documented, individual support may be provided for up to 2 travel days for standard travel and up to 6 travel days for green travel.

ADDITIONAL GRANT AND INCLUSION SUPPORT
Students with fewer economic and social opportunities may receive an additional grant support of €250 per month upon request and submission of supporting documents. The following categories are eligible for this support:
  • Students who have previously been or are currently subject to a protection, care or accommodation decision under Law No. 2828 or Law No. 5395.
  • Students receiving an orphan’s/death pension.
  • Spouses and children of martyrs/veterans, veterans themselves, and the relevant scope specified in the 2026 Handbook.
  • Students who document that they, their family or their guardian receive financial/social assistance from a public institution at the time of application.
  • Students who document a disability rate of at least 50% with an official Disability Health Board Report.
  • Students whose parent or guardian receives a disability or neediness allowance under Law No. 2022.
  • Students who themselves or whose first-degree relative (biological/step) receives AFAD disaster-victim assistance.
KYK scholarships, merit scholarships, similar scholarships and one-off assistance are not considered financial assistance within this scope. For mobility expenses that cannot be covered by standard support due to disability or other special needs, inclusion support based on documented actual costs may be requested in accordance with Programme rules. Such needs must be reported to the Erasmus Office before the mobility.

ZERO-GRANT MOBILITY AND ACTIVITY PERIOD
Selected eligible students who cannot be allocated a grant due to budget limitations may, upon request, carry out their mobility with zero grant or waive financial support. Zero-grant students are also subject to all selection, documentation, academic recognition and activity requirements.
Long-term study mobility lasts for a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 12 months; the project contract period and the total duration limit at the student’s study cycle are taken into account. Except in cases of force majeure, the mobility of a student who does not complete the minimum period is deemed invalid and repayment of the grant paid is requested. The activity under this project must be completed no later than 31 July 2028.

APPLICATION STEPS
