SDG 3.3.1 Current Collaborations with Health Institutions
Istanbul Okan University actively collaborates with local, national, and global health institutions to improve health and well-being outcomes. Through partnerships with hospitals, healthcare organizations, and research institutes, the University engages in initiatives that promote public health, support community well-being, and contribute to the development of healthcare services.
Collaborations in the Health Sector
SDG 3.3.2 Health Outreach Programmes
Istanbul Okan University actively implements healthcare outreach programmes and projects to promote health and well-being within the local community. These programmes include student volunteer initiatives focusing on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, family planning, sports, exercise, and healthy ageing. Through interactive workshops, seminars, and health campaigns, the University’s initiatives aim to raise awareness, educate the community, and support healthier lifestyles.
The on-campus infirmary, supported by the Faculty of Medicine, operates five days a week and is staffed by two nurses and two general practitioners. To support both physical and mental health and to raise awareness on health-related issues, informational health brochures have been prepared for students, academic and administrative staff, as well as cleaning and security personnel. A nurse and an ambulance are available on campus 24/7, and an occupational physician provides healthcare services during weekday working hours. The University infirmary offers essential healthcare services such as examinations and outpatient treatments for students and staff, and it also monitors patients who are referred to external healthcare centres. In addition, the University operates four fully equipped hospitals and one dental hospital.

Istanbul Okan University provides students with access to sexual and reproductive health services. These services include information and educational support. The University offers counselling, workshops, and seminars on topics such as sexual health, family planning, and safe practices, ensuring that students have the necessary resources and guidance to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
