Master Programs

The Following Conditions are Required for Application to the Child Development and Education Master's Program:

Application Requirements to Master Program with Thesis
It is appropriate for students who have graduated from "Child Development Undergraduate Programs" of universities to apply to Istanbul Okan University, Graduate Education Institute, Child Development and Education Master's Program with Thesis without taking scientific preparation courses.

Individuals who have graduated from Psychology, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Special Education, Preschool Teaching and other undergraduate programs deemed appropriate by the decision of the "Institute Board" are accepted to the master's program with thesis on the condition that they complete the scientific preparation program.

In order to apply to the "Master with Thesis" program, candidates must have a diploma with an undergraduate average of 2.5 out of 4, an ALES score of not less than 55 points from the "Equal weight" type, and pass the interview exam.

The overall grade of the candidates is calculated by taking 50% of the ALES grade, 30% of the score out of 100 in the interview evaluation and 20% of the undergraduate grade point average.

Documents Required for Thesis Master Program Application.

• Original or notarized copy of a four-year undergraduate diploma,
• ALES result document obtained from OSYM website (ALES score not less than 55 points from Equal Weight ”score type),
• Original copy of the transcript or notarized / certified copy of the graduated university (Undergraduate GPA being at least 2.5 in the 4 point system)
• 3 passport photos,
• Identity card example,

Application Requirements to Master Program with Non-Thesis
It is appropriate for students who have graduated from "Child Development Undergraduate Programs" of universities to apply to Istanbul Okan University, Graduate Education Institute, Child Development and Education Master's Program with Non-Thesis without taking scientific preparation courses.

Individuals who have graduated from Psychology, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Special Education, Preschool Teaching and other undergraduate programs deemed appropriate by the decision of the "Institute Board" are accepted to the master's program with non-thesis on the condition that they complete the scientific preparation program.

In the non-thesis master's program admissions, if the ALES score is requested, the base score can be examined by the Senate.

Documents Required for Non-Thesis Master Program Application

• Original or notarized copy of a four-year undergraduate diploma,
• Original copy of the transcript or notarized / certified copy of the graduated university (Undergraduate GPA being at least 2.5 in the 4 point system)
• 3 passport photos,
• Identity card example,
• T.C. To fill the application form for Istanbul Okan University Master's Degree.

Conditions for Transfer from Non-Thesis Master's Program to Master's Program with Thesis
Students continuing to the "Child Development and Education Master's Program without Thesis" may transfer to the "Child Development and Education Master's Program with Thesis" by fulfilling the application requirements for the master's program with thesis. In this case, the courses taken in the non-thesis master's program can be substituted for the courses in the master's program with thesis upon the decision of the institute board.

• ALES result document obtained from ÖSYM website (ALES score not less than 55 points from Equal Weight "point type).
• Taking at least 3 courses from the non-thesis program at the end of the first semester and being successful.
• A grade point average of at least 3 out of 4 in the first semester and above.
• Applications for transfer from the Master without Thesis program to the Master with Thesis program are made at the end of the first semester in which the student enrolls in the program. Those who pass this period cannot switch.
• Students can apply only once to transfer from the Master without Thesis program to the Master with Thesis program.
• To fill the application form for TC Istanbul Okan University Master's Degree.
