Where can I access the course schedule? After your course registration is approved, you can view the course schedule in the “Course Schedule” menu on the Student Information System (SIS). Additionally, course schedules are published at the beginning of each semester in the Announcements section of the Graduate School website.
How can I register for courses? During the “course selection dates” indicated in the academic calendar, select your courses through the Student Information System (OIS) and submit them for your advisor’s approval (don’t forget to submit for approval). Once approved by your advisor, you can finalize your course registration.
My academic advisor is not appearing in the OIS. What should I do? You need to contact the Graduate School Academic Coordination Unit.

I missed the course registration period. How can I register for courses? Students who could not register through the SIS during the course registration period can apply to the Graduate School Secretariat by filling out the “Manual Course Registration Form” available on our website. Please note that students who do not register on time risk being unable to attend classes. Therefore, course registration should be completed at the beginning of the semester.
I have registered for courses, but they are still not approved or have been rejected. What can I do? You can contact your academic advisor listed in the system.
I want to drop a course I selected and choose another one. Students can make changes to their registered courses during the dates specified in the academic calendar. If you want to change your course selection during the add-drop period, use the “Course Registration Change Request” button on the course registration screen to modify your courses and submit them again for your advisor’s approval.
How can I attend online courses? Students can access online courses through the O’Learn Education Platform. Login to O’Learn is done using your SIS username and password. A user guide is available in the system.
My courses appear as in-person. How can I attend them? For in-person courses, students need to go to the campus where the course is held. Information about the campus and classroom for each course is available in the Course Schedule menu on the OIS.
How can I see my courses on O’Learn? Registered courses are listed under the “Courses” section. Enter the course and join the class through the “Class Collab” section. A user guide is available in the system.
Can I rewatch my online courses? You can rewatch your courses during the semester if they have been recorded by the instructor. The recordings are available in the Recordings tab under the Class Collab section in the system.
Where can I view my exam results? You can view your exam results in the Exam Results section under the Documents menu in the Student Information System (SIS). Midterm and final exam results are announced by the instructor no later than one week after the exam period. If you cannot view your exam results, you can contact the instructor of the relevant course.
Why can’t I access the Student Information System (OIS)? At our university, the Financial Affairs system and the Student Information System (SIS) work together. If a student has overdue payments and/or has not completed the financial record for the relevant term, access to the SIS is blocked. If you cannot access the system for a different reason, you should contact the Student Affairs Unit.
When will my system access be restored? The system will be reopened as soon as the payment or financial registration issue is resolved. Payments made to the accounts are processed in the accounting system the following day. The system will not be reopened until it is processed in the accounting system.
How can I access the Academic Calendar? You can access it on the Graduate School website.
Is an Academic Advisor different from a Thesis/Project Advisor? The Academic Advisor is the head/coordinator of the program you are enrolled in and provides guidance for all academic processes and procedures.
The Thesis/Project Advisor is the faculty member assigned by the program head to supervise your thesis or project.
What is the completion period for a thesis-based master’s program? According to the Istanbul Okan University Graduate Education and Training Regulations, the duration of a thesis-based master’s program, excluding the time spent in scientific preparation, starts from the semester in which the courses for the registered program are offered. It consists of four semesters regardless of whether the student registers each semester, and the program must be completed within a maximum of six semesters.
What is the completion period for a non-thesis master’s program? According to the Istanbul Okan University Graduate Education and Training Regulations, the completion period for a non-thesis master’s program, excluding the time spent in scientific preparation, starts from the semester in which the courses for the registered program are offered. The program must be completed in a minimum of two semesters and a maximum of three semesters, regardless of whether the student registers each semester. Students who fail or do not complete the program within this period will be disenrolled from the University..
What is the completion period for a doctoral program? According to the Istanbul Okan University Graduate Education and Training Regulations, for students admitted with a thesis-based master’s degree (excluding time spent in scientific preparation), the doctoral program starts from the semester in which the courses for the registered program are offered. The program consists of eight semesters, regardless of whether the student registers each semester, and the maximum completion period is twelve semesters.
