3 Oral Presentations from Our Faculty of Medicine to the International Continence Society Congress

We are proud to announce that our fourth- and fifth-year medical students participated in the International Continence Society Congress from September 17 to 20, 2025, with three oral presentations entitled:

  1. “The role of artificial intelligence in diagnosing and treating interstitial cystitis / bladder pain syndrome,” presented by Yara Allo (5th year)
  2. “Energy imbalance in microglia and astrocytes may be the leading cause of hypersensitivity in central sensitisation in interstitial cystitis / bladder pain syndrome,” presented by Tala Shabaneh (5th year)
  3. ''Chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) model to identify angiogenic properties of vitamin B12 and curcumin for interstitial cystitis / bladder pain syndrome,” presented by Sümeyye Imal and Nour Boughrab (4th year).

Omar Gharbiya (4th grade) also presented this study as poster at the 50th Turkish Physiology Congress, held in Antalya from November 12-16, 2025.

These research studies were conducted throughout 2024-2025 by Yara Allo (5th year), Elaf Al Adrheai (5th year), Tala Shabaneh (5th year), Tala Shawabkeh (5th year), Ahmet Lulu (4th year), Omar Gharbiya (4th year), Sümeyye Imal (4th year) and Nour Boughrab (4th year) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Güldal Inal Gültekin, professor of physiology at the Faculty of Medicine.

Our students delivered explicit scientific presentations at this prestigious conference and obtained an invaluable experience, allowing them to engage with leading experts and broaden their understanding of the field.
