On April 30,
2025, we visited Ford Otosan Company's Gölcük Factory with Mechanical and
Automotive Engineering students. With a group of 19 people, we had the
opportunity to see the Ford factory's Transit type minibus body manufacturing
and electric and hybrid vehicle assembly lines. In the factory, where robots
and automation are predominantly used, over 200,000 vehicles are manufactured
annually and exported to the world via RO-RO ships in the port. Engine parts
are brought from the Eskişehir factory and final assembly is completed here. We
would like to thank Ford managers Müjdat Tiryaki and Ferdi Bozan for supporting
us for this trip. We would also like to thank Gizem Tan Olağan, the secretary
of the Faculty of Engineering, who supported us until the last minute to get
permission.
