Requirements for Exchange Programs
Bilateral Student Exchange Programs are based on official agreements Okan University has signed with partner universities in other countries. Students selected for such exchange programs may study at a partner university for one or two semesters without paying educational fees. Students are responsible for all the living expenses during exchange.
Undergraduate students must complete one full year of their academic program at Okan University before applying for becoming an exchange student. Applying in the second year of studies in order to study abroad in the third year is highly recommended. Applications for Exchange Programs are accepted by the International Office and the deadlines are announced on our web pages. As the deadlines for exchange program applications are strict, following the announcements or consulting the international office must be a priority for students who are interested. The selected students will first be nominated to the partner University by the International Office. Then, each student is responsible for his/her individual application process to the partner university by the deadlines and for acquiring his/her visa, etc.
Students receive academic advising from Department/ Faculty Coordinators in Okan to select the courses they will take in the exchange period.
Students who participate in the exchange programs should return to Okan University at the end of the exchange period and complete their degree program here. Credits successfully completed at the partner university will be applied towards graduation at Okan University, subject to the approval of that Faculty’ Boards.
Students who apply for a partner university whose language of instruction is English will go through an interview in English language. The partner university may require TOEFL or additional English tests. It is very useful to take TOEFL or IELTS before the application process.
Students need to submit
Please submit all the documents in hard copy to the International Programmes Office (Erasmus Office).
