Designed for those planning to build their futures in the tourism and hotel management industry, the program developed by our department reflects one of the fastest developing employment sector of our country. It provides a diverse range of career opportunities. Our Department of Tourism and Hotel Management offers courses covering a full range of business practices in marketing, human resources, finance and industry operations (Front Office Applications and Management – Fidelio / Opera, Food & Beverage Serving and Management, Housekeeping) as applied to the entire hospitality and tourism field for those wishing to work in the tourism industry as medium and upper level executives and entrepreneurs. Students have to learn at least one foreign language, and may choose to learn the following languages: Russian, Chinese, German or Arabic while acquiring skills in computer science and gaining valuable experience through internships provided at five star hotels. Ticketing courses for those students interested in international airline fare calculation rules and IATA ticketing principles are also organized.

The education of Istanbul Okan University, Tourism and Hotel Management Department is based on equipping the students with the certificates that the industry seeks (such as airline ticketing, Fidelio/Opera, Amadeus Selling Platform) and providing the students with the skills needed to continue their career in hospitality, food and beverage or travel sectors as well as to establish their own business by following the tourism and hospitality dynamics.

Students can apply for a double major or a minor program and may also study abroad within the framework of Erasmus programs.

Our four year program aims at preparing you for a challenging and rewarding career in tourism and hotel management. Our mission is to allow you to master business practices in accounting, human resources and supervision and to equip you with the knowledge, skills and experiences needed to be successful in our field.
